Lighting

Lighting wasn't something we were explicitly focused on as lighting was a more of a background focus besides a specific scene, however, in our initial brainstorm sessions for the film we had wanted the lighting to be a much more relevant feature of our film, as we wanted to create a much more cryptic and scary atmosphere, however as we continued to brainstorm we felt that our lack of experience would not work well with the atmosphere we had initially envisioned in our head. We then changed the atmosphere to feel more bright in a sense but the reason for this was a subversion of expectations for our audience with the action in the movie focused on the confusion of the audience.

The one part where we used lighting as part of our film, was in the scene where the passengers disappear, the way used lighting here, was to eliminate the lighting in its entirety, for this part Abdullah had done some editing to blacken the screen, as to emulate a shady or dark overpass that the car was going under, The lighting here was used to confuse the audience with the sudden shift from a bright afternoon to a more dark and morbid feeling due to the sudden disappearance of the driver's friends.
